Ready to Enroll?

When you are ready to enroll, please have the following documents:

Proof of residency – this can be a utility bill, signed and dated lease agreement with W2 tax documents, government documents, etc.

Report card or high school transcript

For high school enrollment, provide a letter of recommendation as well as a three-paragraph essay answering the question: Why would you like to attend Milwaukee Excellence High School?

Submit Individualized Education Program documents, if applicable

Why attend Milwaukee Excellence?

For three consecutive years, Milwaukee Excellence has been designated as a five-star school that significantly exceeds expectations. Because of this, our students receive one of the best educations in the city. At Milwaukee Excellence, you receive the full student experience. Our teachers and staff are committed to ensuring each student has the knowledge and opportunities they need to succeed. With our rigorous curriculum combined with our strong athletic and enrichment programs, students become well-rounded individuals ready for higher education and future careers.

What is the enrollment criteria?

Students must be a resident of Milwaukee or be able to be transported to and from school each day. Milwaukee Excellence provides bus transportation for all students within Milwaukee’s city limits and north of Wisconsin Avenue. Students who live outside the zone or within 0.5 miles of the school will not receive bus transportation.

How early can I apply? When does enrollment start?

We encourage parents/guardians to apply as early as fall of their student’s 5th grade year for middle school or fall of their 8th grade year for high school. Our high school program has limited open seats as the majority of our middle school students continue through Milwaukee Excellence until graduation.

Can I transfer my child to Milwaukee Excellence?
  • If you are interested in transferring to Milwaukee Excellence and your child is currently in 7th or 8th grade or a sophomore or junior in high school, we encourage you to reach out to our admissions team. They will be able to confirm if space is available.

What are the application requirements?

All applicants will need to submit proof of residency (like a utility bill), a report card or high school transcript, and a birth certificate.

What is the registration fee?

The registration fee is $50 for the 2023-24 school year. The registration fee allows Milwaukee Excellence to provide the highest-quality learning experience for our students. This fee helps offset the costs of some classroom supplies, textbooks, technology resources, and extracurricular activities.

What is Milwaukee Excellence’s COVID-19 protocols?
