Milwaukee Excellence is a 6th through 12th grade school opening in fall 2016 with 120 6th graders. We are a tuition-free, public charter school approved by Milwaukee Public Schools. We are committed to putting all students on the path to college through our rigorous curriculum that includes the arts and computer science.
Our goal is 100% college acceptance for our students.
My name is Maurice Thomas and I'm the Founder & School Leader at Milwaukee Excellence. I've spent the past two years traveling the country in order to learn from the best schools in America. I'm back home now and I'm ready to build the best school in Milwaukee. A little about me:
- Born and raised on 33rd & North Avenue
- Rufus King High School & UW-Madison Graduate
- 2010 National Teach For America Teacher of the Year
I hope my track record and our vision for Milwaukee Excellence compel you to enroll your students today. You can reach me at 414-403-5892 or Maurice.Thomas@mkeexcellence.org with questions you have about our school.

We Make the Most of a LONGER SCHOOL DAY
We offer CODING, FITNESS, RECESS, CHESS, & PERFORMING ARTS daily! Students recieve double reading & math each day. Our longer school day provides us with over 30 additional school days worth of instructional time. Through our partnership with CodeHS, we aim to have 100% of students take AP Computer Science in 9th grade.
